316 stainless strip coil is an austenitic chromium nickel stainless steel containing molybdenum. This addition increases general corrosion resistance, improves resistance to pitting from chloride ion solutions, and provides increased strength at elevated temperatures. 316L is preferred in environments where 304’s corrosion performance isn’t sufficient. Its higher nickel content and added molybdenum make it ideal for chemical, marine, and aerospace industries, as well as applications including jet engine parts, heat exchangers, digesters, furnace parts, and exhaust manifolds.
430 Stainless Steel
430 stainless is a ferritic straight chrome grade. 430 presents good corrosion resistance and formability. 430 is a popular choice for interior applications, including household appliances (components and surface) and automotive body trim. While it’s highly ductile, it offers less corrosion resistance compared to chromium-nickel steels.
