There’s a reason Combined Metals calls our employees as our greatest asset. Our team of industry professionals regularly goes above and beyond the work they do to service our customers by reaching out to their surrounding communities to improve lives and circumstances. Today, we highlight and thank our Bellwood facility for offering a neighborly hand and helping the students of Roosevelt Middle School, located only a few blocks away.
Bellwood’s own Donna Scheel, Sale Executive, describes our culture best, “Under Robert Whitehouse’s [General Manager, Combined Metals] guidance and influence, the Bellwood facility has given back to those in need whenever/wherever we are able (book drives, clothes drives, natural disaster collections, etc). We’ve been trying to find a neighborhood site that needed our help. Tonita Leshore, Director of Human Resources at the Village of Bellwood, made us aware that the students at Roosevelt Middle School needed help with their school supplies.
“Connie Pleasant, Buyer, and I contacted Miss Sonya Lee at Roosevelt Middle School and found out that anything and everything was needed for the middle schoolers. All Bellwood employees were invited to donate school supplies. Paper, folders, post-its, Kleenex, pens, pencils, etc. were all donated by the Bellwood family. We also reached out to Accurate Office Supplies, where we purchase our office supplies. They gave a large discount that we used to purchase 800 spiral notebooks and rulers, as well as donated many items themselves. Juan Sanchez, First Shift Supervisor, loaded up the CMC pick up truck and delivered the many boxes.”
The Team at Combined Metals has proven their commitment to the community for decades and will continue to share their time, resources, and efforts to improve the lives of those around them.
